Tent city for stay of 1400 visiting NRIs

More than 5,000 NRIs are expected to take part in the PBD convention.According to DM Surendra Singh, “The tent city where arrangements are being made in three categories - tent villa, deluxe and dormitory will accommodate more than 1,400 guests. During their stay in Varanasi the NRIs will visit ghats, Ganga Aarti, Kashi Vishwanath temple, Sarnath and other places. VARANASI: A tent city is being developed at Aidhey village, apart from other arrangements for the stay of visiting NRIs in view of the proposed Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) convention scheduled to be held from January 21 to 23 in the city.The district administration is busy in preparations on a war footing. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind will address the convention on January 23. BJP MP and actor Hema Malini will present a cultural show on the occasion.

VARANASI: A tent city is being developed at Aidhey village, apart from other arrangements for the stay of visiting NRIs in view of the proposed Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) convention scheduled to be held from January 21 to 23 in the city.The district administration is busy in preparations on a war footing. More than 5,000 NRIs are expected to take part in the PBD convention.According to DM Surendra Singh, “The tent city where arrangements are being made in three categories - tent villa, deluxe and dormitory will accommodate more than 1,400 guests. Besides, 1,200 rooms have been booked in hotels to accommodate 2,400 guests, while 1,400 guests will be accommodated under ‘Kashi Atithya scheme’ in private households.”Meanwhile, a temporary NRI office has been set up at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Trade Facilitation Center in Bada Lalpur area for their convenience. During their stay in Varanasi the NRIs will visit ghats, Ganga Aarti, Kashi Vishwanath temple, Sarnath and other places. The preparations are being monitored on a day-to-day basis by divisional commissioner Deepak Agrawal.According to the commissioner, chief minister Yogi Adityanath , the MP of Norway Himanshu Gulati and MP of New Zealand Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi will address the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas scheduled to be held on January 21. The Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has been organized in partnership with Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports.The formal inauguration of PBD convention will be held on January 22, and it will be addressed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM of Mauritius Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj , and CM Yogi. BJP MP and actor Hema Malini will present a cultural show on the occasion. President Shri Ram Nath Kovind will address the convention on January 23.
