‘Kashi to be biggest hub of med services’

Varanasi: After inaugurating 39 projects worth Rs 3167.36 crore and laying the foundation of eight projects worth Rs 214.70 crore during his stay in Varanasi on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that with this the city would soon become the largest hub of medical services and education.In his address Modi said, “The projects will give a major boost to health, education, tourism and industrial sectors in his constituency.” “The two cancer institutes in Varanasi will end the problems of patients and their attendants not only of eastern UP but also from Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand as they all were compelled to travel far to avail best possible treatment in Mumbai or Delhi,” he added. Modi, who also met the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat scheme said that of 1.20 crore beneficiaries of this scheme in UP 38,000 had already taken benefits of it.About making 120 MLD sewage Treatment Plant at Goithaha and laying foundation of two cattle sheds he said that the government has not only stepped ahead in the direction of checking pollution in river Ganga by completing this STP to treat sewage of trans-Varuna but also proved commitment to serve cow.Highlighting completion of railway and road projects he said that it will help the farmers, trading and industrial sectors.At DLW, he had flagged off diesel locomotive converted to electric engine under Make in India initiative, while foundation of ambitious project of Rs 90.60 crore to develop Sant Ravidas birthplace area had also been laid by him during his Ravidas temple visit.
