Azamgarh hooch tragedy: Cops arrest 2

"We took it (the threat) as a challenge, and the police team succeeded in nabbing him," said the SP. Mulayam was also involved in 2013 hooch tragedy in which 46 persons had lost their lives in Mubarakpur area.Recently, as many as 15 people died after consuming spurious liquor in Raunpar area. Taking it as a challenge, the police launched an extensive manhunt to nab him. The DGP announced a prize of Rs 50,000 for Azamgarh police for this success.Presenting the arrested persons before media, Azamgarh SP AK Sahni said that the accused had been involved in illicit liquor trade for the last 10 years in the district. Appropriate action would be taken against Mulayam under relevant sections of law.

hooch tragedy + VARANASI: The Azamgarh police on Saturday nabbed the liquor mafia Surendra Yadav alias Mulayam along with his aide Pintu Yadav alias Subhash for their involvement in thethat claimed 15 lives in Azamgarh district recently.Mulayam, who runs a syndicate of illicit liquor suppliers, had warned the police to stay away from the syndicate otherwise the district could witness more such deaths. Taking it as a challenge, the police launched an extensive manhunt to nab him. The DGP announced a prize of Rs 50,000 for Azamgarh police for this success.Presenting the arrested persons before media, Azamgarh SP AK Sahni said that the accused had been involved in illicit liquor trade for the last 10 years in the district. However, the locals claimed that 22 people had died.The SP said that so far 73 FIRs have been registered and over 50 persons have been arrested in this connection.
