Ganga on rising trend again

VARANASI: A trend of rise in water level restarted in river Ganga at Varanasi on Monday night.The normal water level of Ganga in Varanasi is 63.05 mt. When the river had adopted rising trend last week the water level had reached up to 64.04 mt on July 14. No major rise in water level is expected here in coming days as the water level of the Ganga at upstream in Allahabad and Sitamarhi was receding while it was stable at Mirzapur. But, from July 15 the water level started receding and on Monday the river was flowing at 62.62 mt.According to Central Water Commission 's middle Ganga division, the water level in Varanasi started increasing again by Monday midnight and on Tuesday morning it reached to 62.73 mt.
