VARANASI: The Rajiv Gandhi South Campus of Banaras Hindu University at Barkachha in Mirzapur district has taken various initiatives based on teaching, research and community development for the development of the campus and benefit of the students.Talking to reporters on Wednesday, the campus in-charge Prof. Saket Kushwaha said that a 'Biodiversity Park and Nature Walk' will be developed on the campus, for which a huge portion of land has already been identified. For this, the variable/components/enterprise (dairy/poultry, fishery, vegetable farming) will be integrated in such manner by which the waste of one enterprise will be used by other enterprises as input. These will be Certificate in Computer Application, Certificate in Foreign Language and Certificate Course in Wellness, Beauty and Grooming.WiFi kiosks will be opened at various placesoin the campus to facilitate the educational needs of students while roaming on the campus for their educational needs, where they may utilize their waiting time for their educational purposes, gainfully. The mechanism will be addressing the pollution under the theme of "Waste is Wealth" leading for zero emission research initiatives, he said and added that a Business Incubation Centre will be started on the campus to encourage students to become job provider instead of job seeker.

This park will be used to grow diverse herbs and natural therapeutic plants, which will be useful for supporting the B.Pharm (Ayurveda) course and fulfilling requirements of Faculty of Ayurveda for production of ayurvedic medicines.Besides, a 'Naturopathy and Yogic Centre' based on healing concept addressing the prevention aspect and cure will also be started very soon, he said adding that the campus is already running a bachelor's degree course in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS). Apart from enhancing the level of experimental curriculum for BNYS students, this Centre will be developed to become useful for outside patients of surrounding districts as well.He said that an integrated farming system has been proposed to reduce the reliance on synthetic purchased inputs without compromising the output. For this, the variable/components/enterprise (dairy/poultry, fishery, vegetable farming) will be integrated in such manner by which the waste of one enterprise will be used by other enterprises as input. The mechanism will be addressing the pollution under the theme of "Waste is Wealth" leading for zero emission research initiatives, he said and added that a Business Incubation Centre will be started on the campus to encourage students to become job provider instead of job seeker. This centre will be developed and run on the path set by Startup India mission of the central government.He further informed that three new certificate courses will be started under Deen Dayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL Kendra which is running in its third year now. These will be Certificate in Computer Application, Certificate in Foreign Language and Certificate Course in Wellness, Beauty and Grooming.WiFi kiosks will be opened at various placesoin the campus to facilitate the educational needs of students while roaming on the campus for their educational needs, where they may utilize their waiting time for their educational purposes, gainfully. Infrastructure worth Rs. 15907.80 lakhs under 16 Projects are in the pipeline waiting for the approval of Finance Committee , he added.
