Lawyer's plea in Varanasi local court against Bhansali

Varanasi: A lawyer Kamlesh Chandra Tripathi filed a plaint against film maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in local court on Monday urging legal action against him under sections for hurting the Hindu sentiment. The queen has been shown in the attire of Ghoomar dance, and historical facts have been distorted, he said. In Varanasi there are temple of Rani Sati in Ramkatora and Manas Mandir areas. The court has fixed next date on December 16 for recording his statement. "I have filed the plaint in the court of ACJM-6 urging action against Bhansali under sections 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage reli-gious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or reli-gious beliefs), 505(1)(b) (cause fear or alarm to the public), 502 (sale of printed or engraved substance containing defamatory matter) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment)", Tripathi told TOI, adding that the court has directed to record statement with evidence on December 16.He said that Queen Padmavati was shown in poor light in the trailer of the film that hurt the religious sentiment of Hindus, who worship 'sati' as Goddess.
