more-in A delegation from Thailand led by Deputy Minister of Commerce Chutima Bunyapraphasara visited Visakhapatnam Port Trust and interacted with Chairman of VPT M.T. Krishna Babu, here on Saturday. She was accompanied by Chayongkan Pamommast, Advisor to the Minister of Commerce, Kejpiroon Kohsuwan, Deputy Director-General of Department of Trade Negotiations, and Yothin Dumnernchanvanit, President Double APCL. Krishna Babu made a presentation highlighting the infrastructure facilities available, capacities in handling of cargo, modernisation and mechanisation, covered storage facilities, solar power, STP water treatment for industrial purpose, investment potential and zone of opportunities in exploring imports and export improvements in Visakhapatnam port and also advantages for having business relations between both the countries through Visakhapatnam port seamlessly. Mr Krishna Babu also spoke about exploring free trade zone and cruise tourism opportunities with the ‘Look East Policy’ of Government of India and ‘Look West Policy’ of Thailand. He The Chairman of VPT emphasised on the need to have air connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Thailand for improving tourism and trade. He also requested to take steps for developing Ranang Port in Thailand for improved trade, as it is logistically closer to Visakhapatnam Port. The meeting was attended by P.L. Harnadh, Deputy Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Krongkanit Rakcharen, Consul General Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chennai, and other delegates and members of AP Chamber of Commerce, Stevedores, PPP Operators and senior officers.
