Visakhapatnam: For the first time, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Educational Research and Training ( SCERT ) has launched a state-wide survey to identify the training needs of the in-service teachers.Earlier, the SCERT used to design the training programmes on its own without necessarily taking inputs of all teachers. We were earlier giving feedback on training programmes as part of the U-DISE (Unified District Information System for Education) surveys. Special training programmes should also be conducted for the teachers of the English medium sections, which were introduced from this academic year at several primary schools across the state,” he said. Another question seeks inputs on the innovative classroom teaching practices and ICT (information communication technology) usage in classrooms.AP SCST Upadhyaya San-gam state head S Simhachalam welcomed the survey.“Launched for the first time, the survey will help the teachers to voice their needs and concerns. For example, a question under ‘content category’ asks the teachers to rate how much academic support on difficult topics they need on a scale of 1 to 5.
