He reviewed the platoons of naval personnel drawn from ships and Defence Security Corps indoors at the Command Gymnasium, owing to inclement weather. Chief of Staff of ENC Vice-Admiral M.S. Pawar was the conducting officer for the parade.The Vice-Admiral highlighted the ENC’s increasing engagement with friendly foreign Navies towards strengthening capabilities and commended the personnel manning the ships for smooth transition to mission-based deployments aimed at maximising time at sea. Underlining the need to ensure that the ships, submarines and aircraft remained combat-ready at all times, he emphasised professional excellence by the personnel manning the platforms with rigorous on-job training and adherence to laid down Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Vice-Admiral Singh recalled the sacrifices of martyrs who fought for freedom and those who have laid down their lives in service of the country. In a parallel event at the “Victory at Sea” War Memorial on Beach Road, Director General Naval Projects Vice-Admiral S.R. Sarma placed a wreath and paid tributes to martyrs.
