‘1,250 jobs will be created for NOAB evacuees in 6 months’

As many as 1,250 jobs will be created for the evacuees of the Naval Alternate Operating Base (NAOB) project within six months and 250 beneficiaries will get employment in the next 15 days, Collector Pravin Kumar said here on Tuesday. Visakhapatnam Rural Superintendent of Police Rahul Dev Sharma, Joint Collector G. Srijana and other officials participated in the meeting. Narasinga Rao pointed out that rehabilitation works and jobs should be provided in a stipulated time-frame. “The companies involved in the project and the Navy should prepare a list of the jobs available and the revenue officials should prepare a list of unemployed youth in the villages affected by the project,” said Mr. Pravin Kumar. Further, the Collector urged that the people to co-operate with the officials in this regard so that an action plan could be ready within a week.

Palem, Bangarampalem, Kothapeta, Vadapalem and China Kalavapalli aired their problems. Participating in the review meeting, Ellamanchili MLA P. Ramesh Babu said It was the responsibility of the administration to create the necessary infrastructure in the affected areas and provide jobs to the locals.
