Visakhapatnam: A new international flight from Visakhapatnam to Bangkok is scheduled to be launched in mid-November 2018, according to sources.Nok Air which is a low-cost airline in Thailand operating mostly domestic services will launch its services from the Visakhapatnam international airport to Bangkok’s Don Mueang international airport.Bangkok will be the fifth international destination to be directly connected from Visakhapatnam after its connectivity to four international destinations: Singapore, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Colombo. The Nok Air early morning flight to Bangkok is likely to operate thrice a week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).K Vijay Mohan, president of Tours and Travels Association of Andhra, said, “The direct flight from Visakhapatnam to Bangkok is passenger-friendly as it is cost-effective and convenient. People travelling to Bangkok through connecting flights will be able to save a lot of time. Usually, passengers from Andhra Pradesh who fly to Bangkok via Kolkata, Hyderabad or Chennai take 8-10 hours to reach Bangkok. The Nok Air flight will enable people to reach Bangkok within three hours. Moreover, it is a midnight flight from Visakhapatnam, hence passengers can reach their destination early in the morning.”“Nok Air will be able to connect 24 destinations in Thailand including Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket and Trang. It will also connect to 10 destinations to China and a few destinations in Taiwan, Laos, Japan, Vietnam and Myanmar. Nok Air has also started a new concept from Bangkok called Fly and Ride to 27 destinations and Fly and Ferry to 10 destinations to provide good connectivity to passengers.
