Haribabu, who is also Chairman of the Divisional Committee of Waltair Division at a meeting with the MPs from the areas under the jurisdiction of Waltair Division, here on Wednesday. “The railway Board is also yet take a call on the Visakhapatnam-Varanasi Express and revision of the timings of Andhra Pradesh AC Express,” Mr. Umesh Singh said. Mr. Haribabu raised several issues while appreciating the progress of projects and achievements of the Railways administration. “The GM also denied that there is any proposal for the construction of a third line from Visakhapatnam to Duvvada and Simhahalam,” Mr. Haribabu told The Hindu, after the meeting. RUBs sought Vizianagaram MP P. Ashok Gajapati Raju raised issues such as construction of RUBs, lifts at Vizianagaram and additional FoBs at Vizianagaram and Chipurupalli. Anakapalle MP M. Srinivasa Rao sought reduction of the journey time of AP AC express and an additional first class AC coach for Visakhapatnam-LTT (18519/20). The General Manager said that necessary steps would be taken at the appropriate level. Srikakulam MP K. Ramamohan Naidu demanded extension of an additional FoB at Srikakulam Road, raising platform heights at Pathapatnam and Tekkali stations in Naupada-Gunupur line and halt for Visakhapatnam-Gunupur passenger at Dandugopalapuram. General Manager said that the issues would be considered.
