more-in With the mystery over the alleged custodial of habitual offender Gorle Pydiraju at the Central Crime Station (CCS)deepening, the Visakha Civil Liberties Union has decided to file a Habeas Corpus petition in the High Court of Judicature for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Monday, requesting its intervention in the case. “So far, the police team probing into the case has not been able to come to a conclusion as to what had happened to Pydiraju. If he is dead then where is the body? If not, what about his whereabouts?” asked N.H. Akbar of Visakha Civil Liberties Union. He further said the police had been maintaining that Pydiraju was picked up along with his wife on Sunday and both were let off on Monday. “But so far, the police have not been able to produce Pydiraju or his wife Yerni Kumari. Can two people just disappear in the thin air? The developments in the case also pose questions on the efficiency of the police,” Mr. Akbar said. ‘Officers untraced’ Pydiraju reportedly died in police custody at the CCS on Tuesday. But the city police deny the allegations, claiming that after being let off, both Pydiraju and his wife are missing. “Not just this, the whereabouts of the officers involved the case too are not known. There is something fishy in the case for sure,” he added.
