Visakhapatnam: Humans are in the middle of a revolution fuelled by automation, robotics, artificial intelligence and digitalization, said Harri Ketamo, founder and chairman of Headai on Saturday. He delivered the keynote address at Tech 2018 on ‘Jobs will be lost, skills are forever’. Ketamo focused on the need to be able to predict the kind of jobs and the skills they will need to be future-readyHe said, “Of course, we will lose jobs with AI and other technologies gaining ground. The unpleasant truth is we are not yet prepared for it,” said Ketamo.Ketamo suggested a four-pronged approach to combat the AI onslaught. “First the organisations need to understand what skills are needed for these jobs, develop a model on individuals’ skills and then build a career path for individuals. The organisations subsequently need to develop a micro-learning environment for continuous workplace learning for their employees,” said Ketmao.
