VISAKHAPATNAM: BJP president Amit Shah on Monday alleged that AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is an ‘opportunist’ and ‘U-turn CM’. “He will again try to knock the doors of NDA after 2019 elections. But this time the doors are closed for him for ever,” Shah said. The BJP chief addressed a public meeting in Srikakulam on the first day of his tour of the state. Shah faced opposition from TDP workers in Srikakulam, who staged a protest at Kasibugga area and raised slogans against PM Modi and Shah. The BJP chief said the NDA government has fulfilled 10 out of the 14 provisions specified in the Bifurcation Act of 2014. “Around 20 central educational institutions have already been set up in AP, which include NIT at Tadepalli Gudem, IIT at Tirupati, IIM and Petroleum University in Vizag, and sanction of around 900 additional medical seats to the state. Even after extending all help, Naidu has been misguiding people by saying BJP has not done anything for the state,” Shah said in Vizianagaram.Shah said Andhra people now have a clear idea about their ‘opportunist’ CM, who joined hands with Congress in Telangana and suffered humiliation there. “After suffering a humiliating defeat in Telangana, Naidu has now joined the opposition front. He is U-turn CM and changes allies as per the situation. He has more interest in corruption than development. After welcoming the Centre’s special package, he took a U-turn. His main aim is to promote his son as CM, but people will teach him a lesson,” Shah added.Shah, however, had to cancel his public meeting in Palasa due to poor turnout. Though the organisers placed thousands of chairs, very few turned up for the meeting despite local leaders trying their best to mobilise the public. Palasa MLA Goutu Sivaji, Goutu Sirisha and other leaders were detained by the police before Shah’s visit.
