Visakhapatnam: Irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao on Saturday promised that his government would provide 24/7 water to Visakhapatam soon. He said that the government would take up an action plan to bring Godavari waters to Yeleru reservoir by the end of September this year. government had received the gross root level facts by collecting the village level waters sources particular with the help of the universities.Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday night, Uma said that they are making efforts for the linkage of rivers in north Andhra and also completing the pending projects. "We will provide the water for drinking and irrigation to Rayalaseema and prove it that the region is not Rallaseema (stones land) but Ratanalaseema (gems land). Nellore water woes would come to an end with Krishna, Godavari and Penna rivers linkage," he said.The minister alleged that the Krishna river water dispute has become a deadlock due to Congress governments. The rulers opened their eyes after opposition party TDP filed the special leave petition before 2014. He alleged that YSRC chief Jaganmohan Reddy had tried to cash in on Polavaram project. "The government would focus on enhancement of cement prices by the companies including Bharati cement. There is no opposition in the state to fight for the people's problems. Jagan has no knowledge over projects and he has become like Uttara Kumara, except dharnas on quarterly basis. He is not making any constructive criticism," the minister said.He further said that TDP faced many cases and continuously fought with Congress government for 10 years, but never abused the governments or individuals with filthy language like Jagan and gang.
