Eamcet Day 1: 3,260 appear for test from Vizag zone

Visakhapatnam/ Vijayawada: As many as 5,052 candidates had registered for the first day of Eamcet engineering test from the five zones in north coastal Andhra Pradesh appeared for the test on Monday. "Online mode of examination has made it possible to release the results early and the engineering colleges would be starting classes from June second week to avoid migration of students to colleges in other states," the minister added. They further added that no problems were faced by the students while writing the exam online as the centres have adequate facilities.Human Resource Development minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao released the password at 9.30 am on Monday at JNTU-K Eamcet office after which the exam was opened online at all the 131 centres in the state, along with ten centres in Hyderabad.Rao said the test results will be out by May 5, ahead of the planned schedule. The five zones are Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Madhurawada, and Anakapalli.Visakhapatnam zone had the maximum number of centres with six in the city, four in Madhurawada and one in Anakapalli.As many as 3,260 candidates appeared for the test in this zone.In Srikakulam, 992 candidates appeared for the test in three centres — Sri Venkateswara Institute of Technology and Management in Srikakulam town, GMR Institute of Technology in Rajam and Aditya Instititute of Technology and Management in Tekkali.In Vizianagaram, 800 candidates appeared in the centres at Digitial Zone in Gajula Rega, Lendi Institute of Technology and Management in Jonnada on Tagarapuvalasa Road, Avanthi Institute of Technology in Cherukupally and Swami Vivivekanada Institute of Technology in Bobbili.The authorities at JNTU-Kakinada said the tests will be conducted in all the centres till April 28.
