Under scrutiny: Certificates of students being verified at an Eamcet counselling centre in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. more-in Except the minor hiccup of ‘cashless’ transaction, the web counselling for Eamcet began across the State with certificate verification on Thursday. A few from the rural areas were caught on the wrong foot, as online payment was new to them. But they could overcome it with the assistance from the staff at the centres. For the first time payment mode of registration fee for Eamcet counselling was made ‘cashless’, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at the web counselling centre, Andhra University. The fee can be paid online from anywhere including home. All that one has to do is to bring the receipt to the certificate verification centre, according to principal of Government Institute of Chemical Engineering (GICE) B. Demudu. GICE is one among the three centres in Visakhapatnam, the others being Andhra University and Government Polytechnic College. In the State there are 35 centres spread across the 13 districts in the State. Internet facility To assist the candidates from the rural areas pay the fee, a system with Internet facility, has been provided at every centre. They can pay the fee by using their debit or credit card or through Internet banking. If they do not have card, they can use a card of their family member or a friend, said Prof. Demudu. The certificate verification will conclude on June 17. The students can avail the web options from June 11. This time the web options will be done in phases: June 11 to 12 (1 to 30000 rank); June 13 to 14 (30,001 to 60000); June 15 to 16 (60001 to 90000); June 17 to 18 (90001 to 120000); and June 19 to 20 (120001 to last rank). The options can be changed from June 21 to 22 and it can done only at the helpline centres. Allotment would be done on June 25 and students can download the letters on June 26 and can even give their acceptance and joining report online, said Mr. Srinivasa Rao.
