Government to identify seniors below poverty line

"Collector Pravin Kumar urged senior citizens to make the most of the opportunity.Depending on their needs, the senior citizens will be provided with crutches, walking sticks, tripods and tetrapods and walkers.The collector also informed the media that care will be taken to identify such senior citizens so that a proper census sheet can be made available from now on. Two camps are going to be carried out in the agency areas — Chintapalli and Paderu — exclusively to ensure that each and every part of the district is covered and a proper census is taken. VISAKHAPATNAM: The district administration has urged officials to conduct a survey and set up identification camps for the implementation of the Vayosri Yojana , the scheme for providing physical aids and assisted-living devices to senior citizens living below the poverty line During a meet at the district collectorate here on Tuesday, district collector Pravin Kumar communicated that the camps would be conducted from July 3 to 7 in five different locations in the district.The district collector in an announcement noted, "The camps will be set up in Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Narsipatnam, Chintapalli and Paderu.
