NCB officials to train Excise personnel

Director of Excise and Prohibition (Enforcement) K Venkateswara Rao said the NCB personnel will give a computer-based training to six members of the excise department for six days in Bengaluru. This was disclosed at a workshop convened here on Saturday for the excise personnel. The Director of Excise and Prohibition (Enforcement) also said they have sent proposals requesting dog squads to assist the enforcement staff. Officials from Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) from Bengaluru will train the personnel of prohibition and excise in the state at the field level to make them aware of different kinds of drugs that are being traded in the Visakhapatnam and other parts of Andhra Pradesh. He further added that main aim is to prevent the ganja smuggling in Visakhapatnam agency.

He further added that main aim is to prevent the ganja smuggling in Visakhapatnam agency. Mr. Venkateswara Rao said a task force has been set up with Anakapalle as headquarters and Assistant Excise Commissioner (enforcement) SVVN Babji Rao has been given the charge for the special drives to destroy the ganja cultivation. In fact, the government is planning to organise a state-wide Anti-Narcotic Task Force with members drawn from revenue, police, agriculture, forest and horticulture departments to effectively tackle ganja trade, he added. The Director of Excise and Prohibition (Enforcement) also said they have sent proposals requesting dog squads to assist the enforcement staff.
