President may inaugurate TU-142 aircraft museum

The Chief Minister is likely to participate in the foundation function on October 9. The President will present the “Colours” to the sub-marine arm of the Navy on December 8 marking its golden jubilee. The Eastern Naval Command has also scheduled its operational demonstration to December 7, instead of the Navy Day on December 4. NAD Flyover design Mr. Basanth Kumar told reporters the double rotary design for the flyover at NAD was finalised. Vijay Nirman Company (VNC) had bagged the contract quoting 7 % less and proposing to construct it at a cost of ?.112 crore. Allaying fears over the design, he said even before the bids were finalised all views were considered. Once design was submitted and it would be whetted by IIT, Madras or Roorkee, Chief Engineer V. Chandraiah said. LRS applications Chief Urban Planner in charge V. Bhavanisankar said during the last 10 days 190 more LRS applications were readied and 100 to 150 were under process. Every day 20 to 25 applications would be readied and a draughtsman would be earmarked for the purpose. After Dasara, a mela would be organised on the third floor of the office to give away the disposal letters.
