Bollywood Singer Papon made headlines when his video kissing a girl child in the reality show went viral. The video created quite a stir in the industry, while many people believed that he sexually abused the child, many supported him saying that the singer had no bad intentions.
Recently, Papon was sidelined in the Bihu celebrations in Assam where he is normally a superstar every year.
In this context actress Raveena Tandon supported him saying
“I think Papon's legal team didn't help him by saying that it was a guru-shishya kiss. The legal team was trying to justify it as a guru-shishya love, which angered a lot of people. If it is seen as a guru-shishya kiss, it was definitely unacceptable. But later, in fact much later, Papon came out to say that it was a misjudgment. So, I feel that he can be given the benefit of doubt. It would have been great if Papon had spoken much earlier. He was very late on the scene. Maybe his legal team advised him to keep quiet for a while- but his period of silence was long. By that time, not just the legal team's guru-shishya statement had done the damage but even many sections of the media had reported it extensively.”
