FIR filed against Abhijeet Bhattacharya for abusing woman

Police has registered a case and will be investigating the case further. An FIR under section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been filed, following the woman’s complaint.

Controversial singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya is yet again swimming into trouble as he is booked by the Amole Police for outraging a modesty of a woman.

Yes, the singer allegedly used derogatory remarks against the woman after a heated argument over the phone. According to a report in a leading daily, a police officer revealed that the woman had a fight with the singer over some drilling work being done in the society. She claims that she was abused by him.

However, talking to media Abhijeet said, “She has been threatening me and others to extort money. I have given a commercial place on rent. My tenants were getting some work done, and she objected to it. Being the owner of the place, I intervened in it.”

He also accused the woman of having an illegal extension on the second floor.

This is not the first time the singer has been caught in a controversy where he has had a verbal spat with a woman. In October 2015, Bhattacharya was booked by Oshiwara police for allegedly molesting and abusing a 34-year-old woman at a Durga Puja pandal in Lokhandwala. As of now, in regards to this latest case, police is gathering more evidence before taking any further action. Bhattacharya further told the daily that he has not been contacted by the police yet.
