Parineeti Chopra appeals to Zomato to find out the 'truth', supports delivery boy Kamaraj

Parineeti Chopra appealed to Zomato on Sunday to find the truth about the assault accusation made against their delivery executive by a Bengaluru woman.

Parineeti Chopra appealed to Zomato on Sunday to find the truth about the assault accusation made against their delivery executive by a Bengaluru woman.

Parineeti Chopra tweeted to Zomato, "Zomato India - PLEASE find and publicly report the truth...If the gentleman is innocent (and I believe he is), PLEASE help us penalise the woman in question. This is inhuman, shameful and heartbreaking...Please let me know how I can help...#ZomatoDeliveryGuy (sic)." Parineeti tweeted the same post twice on her timeline.

The video was of the delivery executive denying the allegations and saying that it was the woman who first verbally abused him, and then hit him with a "chappal."

A few days ago, a Bengaluru woman raised a complaint that a Zomato delivery executive had punched her on her face and left her nose with multiple fractures. The incident happened on Tuesday and the matter came to light on Wednesday when the woman shared a video on social media detailing the sequence of events.

"She refused to pay after accepting the order as I was late for the delivery and asked it for free," Kamaraj, the accused, said. "She started hitting me with slippers and at some point in time while safeguarding myself, my left hand touched her right hand and the ring which she worn hit her nose and it started bleeding.

Zomato soon responded to the incident through social media, apologising for the same and informed that Kamaraj had been delisted from the platform.
