"Padmavati' row: IFTDA goes on a 15 minute black out to show support

Various union groups were present there at the main entrance of Film City where all the union members put off the lights on sets and stopped shooting as a symbol of solidarity with 'Padmavati'.

In the wake on-going controversy over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie, ‘Padmavati’ IFTDA hold a protest to show their support to the filmmaker on Sunday.

Addressing the protesters and media, Indian Films and TV Directors' Association (IFTDA), Ashoke Pandit said:

"We, all the members of the film industry, are sensible enough to portray our history and culture in a sensible way; and it is the basic right to all the citizen of a democratic country to express thoughts freely.

Further talking about the 15 minute blackout, Ashoke Pandit said,

"To urge the government, the entire entertainment industry including advertising industry has decided to put off the lights for 15 minutes in order to show the support to the film.”
