Just a week after going 4x Platinum with their hit track ‘Taki Taki’, Selena Gomez and DJ Snake have dropped their hot new single that packs on major summer vibes. The song flawlessly blends the electronic dance beats with the sweet sound of the saxophone coupled with Selena’s voice and naughty lyrics, making for the perfect track to play on repeat.
Besides the catchy tune, it is the cheeky lyrics, especially the chorus “I get just a little rush / When you’re over there thinkin’ that somebody else cares, somebody else cares (Ooh, ooh),” gives the track a little spunk and sass.
‘Selfish Love’ is the newest release from Selena’s Spanish-language EP - ‘Revelación’ which also boasts of 7 songs– ‘De Una Ves’, ‘Dámelo To’, ‘Buscando Amor’, ‘Vicio’, ‘Adios’ and ‘Baila Conmigo’. Going by the early fan-reaction, the song has come in as a refreshing change from the other heartbreak anthems, songs of hope and other ballads that released amidst the global pandemic.
Selena and DJ Snake previously collaborate on ‘Taki Taki’ with Ozuna and Cardi B, which went on to become a global hit. Before the release of the song, the two artists took to Twitter to share an animated teaser that hinted at a ‘fiery’ new collaboration.
With ‘Taki Taki’ clocking over 2 billion views, will the duo be able to smash another billion hits with ‘Selfish Love’? Only time will tell.
