Telugu film producer arrested for involvement in Tollywood prostitution racket

Upon investigation by the Chicago police, it was unveiled that Kishan would go to extreme lengths to threaten the women who would not comply with his demands.

A sex racket was busted in Chicago which was run by an Indian couple who would lure Telugu film actresses to US, with a temporary visa, and advertise them for sex at Indian events across the country.

A report by The Chicago Tribune reveals that the women were advertised in conferences and cultural events.

However, the ring was busted in April this year, and the two main accused, Kishan Modugumudi and his wife Chandra Modugumudi were arrested then. But only after The Chicago Tribune’s report, the case came to the public eye on June 14.

The report also reveals that  the racket charged clients up to $3,000 for each sexual encounter.

Upon investigation by the Chicago police, it was unveiled that Kishan would go to extreme lengths to threaten the women who would not comply with his demands. The police discovered an E-mail on Kishan from one of his victims, where she pleaded to stop harassing her "It was very unpleasant doing business with you and I don’t want to do any business with you now or in future. If you try contacting me again, I’ll have to make a formal complaint.” the woman had written.

Chandra was tasked with maintaining a ledger of all their ‘business’ deals. The ledger was found by the police along with 70 packets of condoms in their apartment. Chandra would also send potential clients pictures of the available women and negotiate charges with them. A phone message uncovered in the investigation revealed an actress working for the ring talking about how she performed oral sex on a client.

Kishan has co-produced several hit Telugu films in the past.
