Tamil actor Kovai Senthil passes away at 74

Kovai Senthil garnered immense praise for his roles in films like Oru Kai Osai, Idhu Namma Aalu, Aararo Aariraro, En Rathathin Rathame, Avasara Police 100, Tamizh Padam, Avvai Shanmugi, Padaiyappa, Goa and many more.

Tamil actor Kovai Senthil aka Kumaraswamy, known for playing comedy and character roles passed away yesterday morning (September 9) due to age-related ailments. The actor was 74. He breathed his last in Vadavalli, Coimbatore. Senthil's death came as a shock to the entertainment industry as well as to his family. Nadigar Sangam expressed their condolences and released a statement which reads, "The sudden demise of Kovai Senthil has shocked us. Along with his family, South Indian Artistes Association would pray for the soul to rest in peace."

Kovai Senthil garnered immense praise for his roles in films like Oru Kai Osai, Idhu Namma Aalu, Aararo Aariraro, En Rathathin Rathame, Avasara Police 100, Tamizh Padam, Avvai Shanmugi, Padaiyappa, Goa and many more. Interestingly, the actor was in every K Bhagyaraj's film. Since both actor and director had come from the same district, Bhagyaraj used to make sure that Senthil gets a role in every film of him.

Many actors expressed their grief on Twitter, which included Mohanan and CS Andhuman. In Tamizh Padam, the actor played the character of a village head, for which he garnered many accolades.
