Mohanlal gets first dose of COVID vaccine, thanks medical staff

After Indian actors Saif Ali Khan and Kamal Haasan, superstar Mohanlal receives the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. 

Taking to Instagram, he wrote, "Took the First Shot of Covid Vaccine from Amrita Hospital. I take this opportunity to thank the Government of India, the companies which are producing the vaccine & the medical fraternity, including all hospitals, for their relentless assistance and cooperation shown towards the COVID Vaccination Drive."

Mohanlal is 60 years old and hence he is eligible for getting the first shot of the vaccine in the Phase 2 of the vaccination drive. After getting the vaccine, he appealed to everyone to get vaccinated to keep Covid-19 at bay.

Addressing the media, Mohanlal said, "We should get the vaccine for the sake of ourselves and society. Everyone should take the vaccine as directed by the government."

Meanwhile, on the work front,  Mohanlal was last seen in director Jeethu Joseph's Drishyam 2, which received rave reviews from the audience and critics alike.

He is waiting for the release of Marakkar: Arabikadlinte Simham, which will hit the theatres on May 13.
