“Life is messy and there is nothing we can do to control it,” Irrfan as Robert exclaims in the trailer of his latest upcoming American film Puzzle. Irfan shares the screen with Kelly Macdonald as Agnes, a housewife whose life is stuck in a confusing routine pothole. But she sees her life change upon discovering that she has an innate gift for assembling puzzles.

She takes it forward and teams up with Robert, a champion puzzler, to participate in a jigsaw tournament.

The film, also stars David Denman. It is an official remake of Natalia Smirnoff’s 2010 Argentinian film of the same name, which in turn has been compared to the French film Queen to Play (2009).

The trailer describes” PUZZLE is a closely observed portrait of Agnes, who has reached her early 40s without ever venturing far from home, family or the tight-knit immigrant community in which she was raised by her widowed father. That begins to change in a quietly dramatic fashion when Agnes receives a jigsaw puzzle as a birthday gift and experiences the heady thrill of not only doing something she enjoys, but being very, very good at it.”
