Tom Alter’s sudden demise took the cinema industry by surprise and stars took to Twitter to express their condolences but surprisingly, there were no big stars present at the event.
Veteran theatre and film personality Tom Alter passed away at his Mumbai residence at the age of 67 after suffering from a type of skin cancer.

But what was more surprising that at his last rites, except actor Raja Murad and filmmaker Shyam Benegal, no big stars dropped in at Worli.
Calling his loss as terrible, Shyam Benegal said that his loss is terrible. He went before his time. He was a nice human being. He last appeared in 'Samvidhaan' with me.
His memorial service will be held next week at Malabar Hill.
