Padmavati controversy: Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha burns Bhansali's effigy

Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha has burnt SLB’s effigy in Meerut days after 'Padmavati' posters were released. Thsi si not the first time, earlier also, Rajput Karni Sena burned the effigy of SLB.

The problems for ‘Padmavati’ makers don’t seem to end soon. Yes, days after Rajput Karni Sena stint of burning the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s effigy, another Rajput outfit, Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha has burnt SLB’s effigy in Meerut.

District president of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, Kuldeep Tomar, said, “It is a well-known fact that Rani Padmavati had died in mass self-immolation and was a symbol of bravery for women. But from what we have got to know, some historical facts have been distorted in the movie. This will not be tolerated,”

He added, "The movie should first be shown to the district authorities and if they believe that historical facts have not been tampered with and Rani Padmavati has not been shown in wrong light, then they can release the movie or else make changes wherever needed and then release the movie. If this is not done, we will not let the movie release."

This has happened days after the ‘Padmavati’ posters were released. Though Sanjay Leela has still not reacted yet and we wonder what he has to say after this.

‘Padmavati’ is based on the 14th century siege of the Chittor fort, when emperor Alauddin Khilji attacked Rajasthan in a bid to capture Rani Padmini.
