Here's what Ramanand Sagar's "Ramayan' characters look like now

In the year 1986, TV got its first ever ‘Ramayan’ by Ramanand Sagar which turned out to be the biggest epic show ever made in the Indian TV.

Infact this show is one reason for the mythological serials which have been airing these days. It’s been a very long time, and now the cast of ‘Ramayan’ has aged entirely.

NYOOOZ has compiled a list of the show’s main characters and this is how they look now.

Arun Govil as Ram

His expressions and acting was so mature and convincing that he seemed like a real life Ram

 

 

Deepika Chikhalia as Sita

She did the complete justice to her character of Sita. People used to touch her feet believing that she indeed is real Sita.

 

 

Sunil Lehri as Laxman

Lehri still looks young and didn’t seem to age at all.

 

Arvind Trivedi as Raavan

With those big eyes and heavy voice, Arvind Trivedi was the scariest on-screen Raavan ever.  

 

Anjali Vyas as Urmila

She still appears in many films and TV serials. Her popular role was in film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ as Kangana Ranaut’s mother.

 

Dara Singh as Hanuman (1928-2012)

Dara Singh is no more with us. But he played Hanuman that suited his personality completely.

 

Lalita Pawar as Manthra (1916-1928)

Lalita Pawar was one of the most iconic actresses of the industry. She played the role of evil Manthra so nicely that people started hating her.

 

 

Sulakshana Khatri as Mandavi

Sulakshana played the role of Bharat's wife Mandavi and still appears in TV shows. 

 

Padma Khanna as Kaykeyi

Padma Khanna portrayed Kaykeyi's character in the show which is one of the toughest characters of Ramayana.

 

Bal Dhuri as Dashrath

Bal Dhuri as Dashrath proved to be a strong support of the show.
