DIY Lip scrub recipes for healthy lips! Super simple to make!

Winters are yet to leave us, what it does leave is scally chapped lips every season. As most of us wait for the harsh winters to run its course while waiting to try these lip scrubs that one can easily make at their homes with the simplest ingredients that we store.

1.Coffee Scrub

Coffee isn’t just for waking you up in the mornings. It’s a secret weapon that you can use on your skin and lips to keep them looking healthy and happy. This combo of coffee grounds and honey is a reliable way to exfoliate and moisturize your lips.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Directions

  1.  Mix the coffee grounds and honey in a mixing bowl and stir well.
  2.  Dab this scrub onto your lips and massage in a circular motion for about one minute.
  3.  Leave it on as a mask for another minute.
  4.   Wash away with warm water for instantly hydrated lips.

2.Almond oil scrub

Almond oil helps to rejuvenate dead cells and prevents further chapping of lips. You can use this scrub on a regular basis for healthy, rosy lips.

Ingredients

  •  2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  •   1 tablespoon honey
  •  1 tablespoon almond oil

Directions

  1.  Mix the three ingredients.
  2.  Stir well until properly blended.
  3.  Gently rub a small amount to your lips.
  4.  Lightly rinse to take off the sugar, but leave a little almond oil on for hydration.

3. Rose Petal Scrub

Rose petals help in naturally lightening the tone of discolored lips. Its antibacterial properties also help in protecting your lips. Cold milk helps in brightening your lips.

Ingredients

  •   Rose petals
  •   Milk

Directions

  1.  Take petals from one rose and mash them well together in milk to achieve a paste-like consistency.
  2.  Rub this onto your lips like a regular lip scrub.
  3.   Wash with lukewarm water.
  4.   Follow with a lip balm.

4.Chocolate and essential oil scrub

This scrub consists of the goodness of cocoa, coffee, and sugar. These natural exfoliators slough off dead skin with ease and nourish your lips from deep within. Grapeseed oil helps moisturize and hydrate them.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons sugar

  •  1/2 teaspoon cocoa
  •  1/2 teaspoon coffee grounds
  • 1 tablespoon grapeseed or avocado oil
  • 3 drops of peppermint essential oil

Directions

  1.  Mix the sugar, cocoa, and coffee grounds together in a bowl.
  2.  Add your grapeseed oil and peppermint oil to this mixture and blend it until you achieve your desired consistency.
  3.  Dab some onto your lips and scrub for a minute.
  4.  Wash with lukewarm water.

5. Orange Peel Scrub

The orange peel present in this DIY lip scrub recipe is excellent for treating dark and discolored lips. Almond oil helps nourish and moisturize dry, chapped lips while sugar is a natural exfoliator for healthy lips.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons dried orange peel powder
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 10 to 12 drops of almond oil

Directions

  1.  Grind your dried orange peel to make a fine powder.
  2.  Add brown sugar and almond oil to the powder and mix the ingredients in a bowl.
  3.  Gently scrub this mixture on your lips for about 30 seconds.
  4.  Clean your lips with a wet wipe or wash with warm water.
  5.  Repeat this twice a week.
