Deb is reported to have issued strict orders to both the parties to take immediate steps to prevent any further clashes and said action will be taken against the accused irrespective of their political affiliations.Deb also constituted a five-member coordination committee, headed by deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma, to resolve the dispute between the party workers. The committee also includes the two BJP general secretaries of BJP - Pratima Bhowmik and Rajib Bhattacharjee, IPFT president NC Debbarma and general secretary Mevar Kr Jamatia. The committee will hold a meeting with the local leaders of both the parties by the next week."Differences of opinion and grievances are not unusual in politics in case of an alliance. IPFT MLA of Raima Valley constituency then rushed to the spot to pacify the agitators.Clashes between BJP-IPFT party workers have been on the rise, with 11 incidents of clashes reported from Khowai, Jirania, Korbok and Shantirbazar subdivisions in the last two weeks. BJP MLA of Korbok in Gomati district, Burba Mohan Tripura , was reportedly attacked by IPFT supporters last Saturday. The tribal party later staged a rally and set up a road blockade at Karbook , demanding that the arrested IPFT workers are released and the case against them withdrawn.Last week, IPFT supporters had set up a blockade on the alternative highway at Fatikroy in Unokoti district, accusing the local BJP MLA of playing a partisan role. The tribal party has also been accused of trying to force BJP workers to join IPFT and collecting funds from the people. IPFT has also been been demanding adequate representation in various corporations, village committees and other government institutions.
