India, Bangladesh mull 6 new border haats

On Sunday, officials of the joint committee visited the border haat at Kamalasagar in Sepahijala district of Tripura and Tarapur in Bangladesh and recommended the need for further improvement in infrastructure At present, two border haats are functioning at Kamalasagar in Sepahijala district and Srinagar in South Tripura district.The officials also met chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb and discussed various issues related to trade with Bangladesh. The joint secretary of the ministry of commerce, M Balla, led the Indian side. The Bangladeh delegation was headed by additional secretary of trade and commerce, Md H Islam.
