FIR against CPM leaders for holding rally 'without permit'

AGARTALA: Tripura Police filed a case against former deputy speaker and secretary of CPM's West Tripura unit Pabitra Kar, former CPM legislator Ratan Das and CPM sadar subdivisional secretary Subhasish Ganguly on Wednesday night for holding a protest rally without requisite permission on Tuesday.Police have registered separate cases against Kar for organizing the rally as well.He had sought permission for holding the rally and went ahead with it despite police not giving permission. "Investigation has been started. The rally, held without permission, might have breached the peace and tranquility of the city," police said.CPM had alleged that 25 of its workers had been hurt, of which two were critically injured, in attacks by BJP workers on Tuesday.
