Tripura cabinet approves ToR for tribal devpt committee

The tribal welfare minister, Mevar Kumar Jamatia, told media, "CM Bipbal Deb was asked to prepare the terms of reference based on which the proposed committee would function in Tripura. He added that the terms of reference include steps for empowerment of ADCs and developing tribal economy, language and culture. AGARTALA: The council of ministers in the Tripura government has approved a seven-point terms of reference (ToR) for constituting a modality committee which will undertake measures for development of tribals in the state. The guidelines also focus on issues of land rights, education and healthcare for the tribal community The terms have now been approved by the cabinet and will be sent to the MHA."

AGARTALA: The council of ministers in the Tripura government has approved a seven-point terms of reference (ToR) for constituting a modality committee which will undertake measures for development of tribals in the state. Constitution of this committee was one of the key conditions that helped forge the pre-poll alliance between BJP and Indigenous People's Party of Tripura (IPFT).MHA had issued a directive to the state government to fix the terms of reference based on which the committee would study and suggest measures for tribal development.
