'Drowned' Tripura boy still traceless

His grandfather Amrit Hrishi Das had taken him to the river for a bath on Monday morning. It was initially suspected that the boy had drowned. Two fire-fighting vehicles, a police contingent and a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) team initiated a rescue operation. The grandfather said he raised an alarm after he could not see his grandson after a while. A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also joined the operation later.

AGARTALA: Following a search operation till Tuesday afternoon, police are looking at different angles to locate the five-year-old boy who was suspected to have drowned in Howrah river near Aralia area on Monday morning.According to reports, Bishal Hrishi (5) Das alias Guddu, son of Bulu Hrishi Das, had come to his maternal grandfather's house from Shivpara village of Teliamura with his parents. His grandfather Amrit Hrishi Das had taken him to the river for a bath on Monday morning. The grandfather said he raised an alarm after he could not see his grandson after a while. It was initially suspected that the boy had drowned. Two fire-fighting vehicles, a police contingent and a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) team initiated a rescue operation.
