PM Narendra Modi to visit Tripura on February 9

Deb said the Prime Minister will unveil a statue of Tripura's late king Maharaja Bir Bikram and inaugurate an extended railway line during his visit.This will be the first visit to the state by the PM after formation of the BJP-IPFT government.The PM had, however, attended the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP-led government on March 9 last year. AGARTALA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive here on February 9 for a day-long visit to dedicate a few development projects, including a new teaching block of the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), to the people of the state.According to report, Modi is scheduled to interact with members of the cabinet, including chief minister Biplab Deb and other top party leaders, to discuss crucial political issues ahead of the general election.Chief minister Deb held a high-level meeting with state officials on Friday, followed by a discussion with party leaders, including the BJP state president, to discuss preparations for the Prime Minister's visit.
