Tripura may through open first fly over in Agartala despite on going probe

The Tripura government is all set to open the first flyover in Agartala soon. The move by the BJP led government comes as a surprise for many even as the police are inquiring into alleged 'irregularities in the Rs 300-crore project'. The ousted Left Front government led by former chief minister Manik Sarkar had authorized a Hyderabad-based private company to construct the flyover in 2015. The BJP-led state government filed an FIR in March this year to probe alleged 'irregularities in the project'. The FIR has named two ex-PWD Chief Engineers and three others as accused.

The Tripura government is all set to open the first flyover in Agartala soon. The move by the BJP led government comes as a surprise for many even as the police are inquiring into alleged irregularities in the Rs 300-crore project. Notably, officials of the Tripura Police Crime Branch grilled former finance and Public Works Department (PWD) minister Badal Choudhury of the erstwhile Left Front government for five hours on Monday. The ousted Left Front government led by former chief minister Manik Sarkar had authorized a Hyderabad-based private company to construct the flyover in 2015. The BJP-led state government filed an FIR in March this year to probe alleged irregularities in the project. The FIR has named two ex-PWD Chief Engineers and three others as accused.
