Tripura BSF and Border Guards Bangladesh discuss border issues

Representatives of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) have met to discuss various bilateral border issues during the Border Co-ordination Conference at the BSF Frontier headquarter in Agartala. The conference deliberated upon various bilateral border issues like trans-border crimes including smuggling of drugs and other narcotic substances, border violations and their preventive measures, pending developmental works by BSF as well as by local civil administration, construction of single row fence along the Indo-Bangladesh international border and Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP). The conference took place from November 25-27. Leaders of both BGB and BSF agreed to initiate preemptive measures in creating an environment of peace and tranquillity along the international border by amicably resolving all the pending issues and further strengthening the bond of friendship, trust and mutual co-operation. Susanta Kumar Nath, inspector general of BSF Tripura Frontier said, “We are sincerely committed to maintaining peace and harmony along the Indo-Bangla international border and in strengthening the already robust friendly relations.”The BGB delegation also called on Tripura Governor, Ramesh Bais.
