Tripura schools to resume regular classes from December 1

The Tripura government has announced that educational institutions across the state will open from December 1. However, classes will resume only for students of classes X and XII and all teachers will have to be present in the schools. As the X and XII standard students will be appearing in the board examinations next year, a high-level committee constituted by the state government has recommended that their classes be held on a regular basis from December 1. The committee also recommended that regular classes of all degree colleges be conducted. They had remained closed since March this year following the lockdown due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. These neighbourhood classes were soon suspended following criticism by the public. The state government had also ordered that 50 per cent of teachers should be present every day in the schools from October 15.
