Teacher dies, 6 hurt in Tripura violence

Violence was reported at Manu, Khowai, Barjala and Golaghati of West Tripura and Kumarghat of North Tripura where at least five persons were injured. AGARTALA: A teacher died and six others were injured in five separate incidents of political violence in the state over the last 24 hours in different parts of the state. Dhar said violence was instigated by BJP and it is trying to shift the blame. He claimed CPM cadres attacked their party office at Chailenghta where Babul Majumder, a teacher died while two BJP supporters were seriously injured.CPM state secretary Bijan Dhar countered the charge, saying the deceased teacher was a CPM cadre. He said three CPM cadres were injured in an attack by BJP workers.

The ruling CPM and BJP hurled allegations against each other.BJP state president Biplab Kumar Deb said BJP party offices were ransacked at Manu and Chailengtha under Dhalai district on Wednesday night, sparking tension. He claimed CPM cadres attacked their party office at Chailenghta where Babul Majumder, a teacher died while two BJP supporters were seriously injured.CPM state secretary Bijan Dhar countered the charge, saying the deceased teacher was a CPM cadre.
