Siblings in Agra clear PCS-J examination in first attempt

Agra: Siblings, aged 25 and 22, from Nagla Arjun hamlet, under the Etmadpur area in Agra, cleared the Uttar Pradesh Judicial Service Civil Judge (Junior Division) examination in the first attempt and have now become judges. Shailja Singh, secured the 51st position and her brother Sudhanshu Singh, got the 276th position in the examination on their first attempt after completing their LLB.The UPPSC announced the PCS-J result for 2022 on Wednesday. Out of 303 posts of judicial officers, 302 candidates have qualified.Speaking to TOI, Shailja, said, "My father and my brother are my inspiration. I aspired to be a judge, and under their guidance I prepared for the PCS-J Exam.Our father and brother guided us and helped us achieve our goal, Sudhanshu told TOI.The two studied in Aligarh and Barabanki districts and pursued LLB from the University of Lucknow. Sudhanshu completed his bachelors degree last year while Shailja finished her graduation in 2020.Shailja, an LLB student from Lucknow University is a gold medalist. The two of them used to study for 12-13 hours a day, said their father Arabi Singh Maurya, who retired as the Chief Justice of Etah on July 31. His elder son Arjit Singh is posted as a Civil Judge in the Bhadohi district.
