Inter-state gang duping shopkeepers busted, 2 Delhi residents held

AGRA: Aligarh police have busted a Delhi-based gang that used to order electronic goods from shopkeepers and run away with the goods without paying the bill. Two persons, identified as Neeraj Gupta, 39, and Waseem Saifi, 37, both residents of Delhi, have been arrested and sent to jail after being produced before the magistrate.Four new ACs, seven inverter batteries, three mobile phones including 22 sim cards, two purses, a bike, and rupees 50,000 have been recovered from them. According to police sources, the gang was operating in UP and Delhi. The two accused and their associates have been duping shopkeepers in Aligarh for the last several months. Police found that a few cases were registered in various parts of Aligarh. Police said the accused used to rent a room or house in Aligarh and adjoining districts and would order expensive household appliances to be delivered to a given address. Once the delivery person would be on his way to reach the destination, some associates would trick the deliveryman and run away with the appliances, without paying the bill.Superintendent of police (rural), Palash Bansal, said, The accused would call shopkeepers and book products using a new SIM. Later, they would break the SIM and throw it. During the investigation, it was found that the gang used to sell the stuff to other people at a cheap price. Mohammad Dilshad
