AGRA: Former external affairs minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Friday said no one should raise any objections if India is renamed Bharat.Speaking at a public gathering held as part of his foot march in Farrukhabad, Khurshid said, India and Bharat exist in the Constitution. Both are like twin brothers. No one should raise objections if India is renamed Bharat. People sometimes use India, and sometimes they say Bharat. I never heard someone say India-wasi but Bharat-wasi.He also voiced concerns over the secrecy surrounding the upcoming special session of Parliament. We are not being told about the agenda of the special session. No one knows about it except two men. No one dares to take their names in the country, Khurshid said.If this direction makes our Constitution strong, we will welcome it. But if it threatens the Constitutions integrity, we will resist it, even if that means risking our lives, he added.Speaking about the possibility of an early election, Khurshid said, The PM has the right to call for an early election. But there are assembly elections in a few states in November and December that cant be postponed. If this topic comes up in the special Parliament session, it will be discussed.Speaking to the media, Khurshid later said, Lok Sabha elections are around the corner. Congress has entered into agreements with many parties. There are no elders or youngers in the alliance. Decisions will be taken with mutual trust.
