AGRA: A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly abducting and raping his 8-year-old neighbour. The girl was found in a pool of blood in a room at a park near her house. She was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition. Initially, the FIR was registered against an unknown person under IPC sections 363 (kidnapping), 376 AB (rape with a woman less than 12 years of age) and sections of the Pocso Act. "The accused was later identified as a local resident named Ranjit. After interrogating around 70 people he was arrested on Thursday. He had consumed alcohol before raping the minor girl. He had left his home on Monday and had not returned. He has confessed to the crime. The DNA profile of the accused is being developed," said deputy superintendent of police Alok Singh.(The victims identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
