Life imprisonment for 1 in constable murder case

AGRA: Additional District and Sessions Court 10 Judge Hemlata Tyagi sentenced the notorious criminal Neetu Kail to life imprisonment on Saturday. Kail had been convicted of murdering a constable and robbing his rifle 12 years ago, additional district government counsel Kuldeep Kumar said.The incident occurred during a nighttime vehicle inspection by a police team in Shamli district. "On October 12, 2011, unidentified miscreants attacked constables Krishnapal and Amit Kumar, robbing them of their rifles in the Thana Bhawan police station area. Krishnapal, aged 27, lost his life in the incident, while Amit suffered gunshot wounds. The police filed a chargesheet against 16 accused," Kumar said."Police arrested all of the suspects weeks later and remanded them to jail. A total of 14 witnesses testified in the case, with 16 accused named in the chargesheet. Four of these accused - Rishipal, Sanjeev, Dharmendra, and Sumit Kail - have since passed away. While the remaining 11 - Omkari, the former village head of Kail Shikarpur in Shamli, her daughter-in-law Nisha, her son Amit, along with Monu, Sudhir, Satyavan, Vikas, Sanjeev Jayanti of Sisauli, Sanjay, Manoj and Yashpal of Baghpat - were acquitted on Wednesday under Section 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy)," Rajeev Sharma, the district government counsel (DGC), stated.
