Snake bites school student in AMU hostel, critical

AGRA: A 16-year-old student at Syed Hamid Senior Secondary School of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Hanjala Islam, was bitten by a snake while he was sleeping in a hostel at 2am on Sunday. He was initially admitted to Aligarh Government Medical College and later referred to a private hospital in Delhi in a critical condition. On Tuesday, students staged a dharna on the campus against the alleged negligence on part of the university. They claimed that there had been several complaints in the past regarding sightings of snakes.
